Job Responsibilities
Perform daily safety inspections of equipment and tools prior to work
Use safe driving practices traveling to and from job sites
Perform work in a safe and observant manor as directed by crew leader
Participate in maintenance of tools and equipment at the shop and on the jobsite
Participate in post job cleanup of work sites
Conduct oneself in a courteous and professional manner on the job site and when dealing with customers
Willingness to learn and develop skills and abilities at all times
A positive and progressive attitude is a must
Job Requirements
Grade 12 education
Must be physically fit, willing to work outside in various weather conditions and perform heavy labor
Valid “G” driver’s license with clean record
Willing to periodically work on Saturdays, and longer days when needed
Willing to travel with the company when “Storm chasing” opportunities arise
Comfortable working around and with heavy machinery
Considered Major Assets
Post-secondary certificate (or greater) in arboriculture or a related field
Demonstrate proficiency in safe climbing and working aloft in trees
Strong knowledge of knots used for climbing and rigging
Demonstrate knowledge of safe chainsaw and hand tool techniques aloft and on the ground
Experience in both tree removal and tree pruning techniques on the ground and aloft
Ability to perform proper pruning cuts on all woody tree and shrub species
Strong knowledge of safe rigging procedures for tree pruning and removal
ISA Tree Worker/ Climber Specialist or Certified Arborist Certificate
Mechanically ability to assist in equipment maintenance and repair
Experience operating heavy machinery
Plant Health Care experience

$18-21 depending on experience and performance
